Recap
This game featured a rare windy night at the Sportsplex that resulted in many miscues by both teams on fly balls, but once again the run total remained
low between these teams.  Both starters pitched very well and needed no relief.  Kevin Brunet (Gryphons) and Adam Oattes (Brewers) combined to get
7 "3 up-3 down" innings.  Brunet had to escape a bases loaded jam in the first after a walk and 2 errors, while Oattes set down the first 8 batters he faced.
In the 2nd, the Brewers struck for one run after James Marshall doubled and then scored with 2 outs after a Gryphon error.  Oattes did find himself in a jam
in the 3rd after a walk, single and Brewer error left runners at 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs, but Oattes was able to strike out the next batter to get out of the inning.
The Gryphons used patience at the plate and speed on the bases in the 5th to tie the game at 1.  Jeff Still led off with a single, then stole 2nd and 3rd.  Then
after a strike out and 2 walks by Phil Taylor and Tyler Munro the bases were loaded for Geoff Nolan.  Nolan grounded out to 2nd base for an RBI then Ryan Mussen
hit a blooper to left field that looked like it was going to drop for a base hit and 2 more runs, but Scott Tunis caught the ball despite colliding with shortstop Geoff
Magnus and keep the score at 1-1.  In the bottom of the 5th, the Brewers quickly answered back.  Matt Beelen singled to lead off, then after a Gryphon error,
Magnus singled to centre to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead.  From this point, no batters reached base for either team as Oattes set down the final 8 batters he faced.
