In the season opener for the Nepean Brewers vs. the Diamondbacks, the Brewers broke out new jerseys and began the new era with a convincing win.
DBacks starter Martin Trepanier sailed through the first 2 innings but then ran into trouble in the 3rd.  After a single by Matt Battig and walk by Matt Beelen,
Adam Oattes smashed a triple into the right field gap scoring both runners.  Oattes then also scored on a wild pitch, but Trepanier was able to get out of a
bases loaded jam with no further damage.
Meanwhile, Brewers starter, Geoff Magnus picked up where he left off last year, in which he won his 2nd consecutive Tier 1 MVP, pitching an almost flawless
5 innings yielding just 2 singles, no runs and no walks while striking out 6 for the win.
The Brewers exploded for 9 runs in the 5th off the DBacks relievers, hitting 7 singles and game ended after 5 due to the merci rule.
